We put this project off for years, fearing we would run across another "professional" similar to the one who remodeled our master bath in 2007. No glaring problems, but some minor stuff which just did not sit well. We picked Pillar after watching them work on a house in our neighborhood which had a large oak tree fall in the geometric center of the house. Not a speed record on the work, but clearly thorough and professional. Shawn Griffith, owner, came out and surveyed what we had and what we wanted. No fooling, descriptive, took notes and photos, measurements. This was a to the studs remodel of a 50+ sq ft bathroom, with ceiling work, plumbing, no item in the room would stay. The process was very well laid out, with payment schedules, and an in house interior designer person to guide us through the selection process of tile, cabinetry, countertop, all aspects of the job. She proved markedly competent, and the ordeal was done in a few hours. We selected four different tiles and two stone surfaces. It looks great. We felt very well served. The work teams to do the demolition, plumbing, dry wall, cabinetry, tile work, painting, etc. were all on time, competent at least, and careful about leaving any trash/mess. The Pillar teams have been carefully selected, and all are credits to the company. We are pleased. Completely. Our daughter is a MS Architect, licensed, and thoroughly approves of all the work and the quality of it. The remodel project of my beachfront high-rise condo by the team at Pillar included moving the hot water heater and ac/heat air handler, raising the drop ceiling from 18” to 6”, laying 48” x 9” plank wood grain porcelain tile, installing new kitchen cabinets and granite countertops, removing popcorn texture from ceilings, repairing water damaged drywall, installing new lighting and painting. They professionally worked with the condo manager and within the HOA rules. Throughout the project I felt that my questions, requests and suggestions were heard and respectfully addressed. Quality of work as well as getting the job done in a timely manner were top priorities. And to top it off, they are just nice people to work with. We purchased a mid-century modern home that needed extensive remodeling. This included relocating the front entrance door, and introducing a more open floor plan. The open floor plan required the removal of approximately 22 feet of support walls--to be replaced with a large beam to support the roof trusses. Shawn and his group at Pillar came up with an innovative solution for installing the beam that left only a small portion of it visible in the room. The project also called for installing hardwood floors in the renovated areas. Pillar's sub contractor did a great job matching the wood and stain with the existing floors. Pillar was very good coordinating with its sub-contractors, and making sure they corrected anything not done just right. The end product is a modernized home that is faithful to the original style.
